Q: What is it?
A: The Nexus is the next evolution of PvE in HoDA. It serves as the new central hub for both PvE events and the campaign missions.
Q: How do I get to the main quest maps now?
A: Tap on the Nexus button from any screen. The Nexus screen will come up where you can go to a Nexus (PvE) map or Continue the Main Quest.
Q: How About PvE events?
A: PvE events will now be taking place on their own maps in the Nexus, instead of on the main quest maps. When tap on the Nexus button, you'll have a listing of all active Nexus events. If several are active, you can swipe left or right to view them all. After selecting one, you can choose your difficulty and you'll enter that Nexus event map.
Q: How many Nexus events can I be in?
A: You can compete in one Nexus map at a time. In order to enter another map, you will have to either complete the one that you are on, or quit the map to start another, losing any Loot that you've accumulated to that point.
Q: Why do missions have numbers below them?
A: The Energy and Stamina displays have been updated. They now show the number of units of each that you have. The number indicates how many units of energy are used to play that mission. On higher difficulties or progressions, missions will require more Energy. However, your maximum amount of Energy now increases with your Player level.
Q: How do I get my rewards from a Nexus event?
A: Nexus maps use a new Loot system. As you complete missions, rewards will fill up your Loot box on the left side of the screen. Once you complete all of the missions on the Nexus map, you'll be able collect all of the rewards that you earned by tapping the Collect Rewards button on the victory screen. Possible rewards include heroes, gold, gems, and Revives.
Q: What happens if I'm defeated before I finish a Nexus map?
A: If you're defeated before finishing all of the missions, you have an option to continue the battle using Revive. Specific to the Nexus, Revive, or Revive potions, restores your squad to full health while the enemy remains damaged.
Q: And if I'm out of Revives?
A: If your squad is defeated while you're out of Revives, you have the option to use gems to revive your squad. This revives your squad, but doesn't provide you with any additional Revive potions. This is currently the only way to revive your squad once your Revive potion inventory is empty, though we are looking at the possibility of having potions be on the loot list for Nexus.
Q: Do Revives regenerate?
Revives do not regenerate currently. Once you've used your Revive potions, you can use gems to revive your squad if they are defeated. Revives do not refill when you level up your account.
Q: What if the game crashes before I finish my Nexus map?
A: Your progress in the map that you were will be retained and when you re-boot the game and go back to the Nexus, the event map that you were on will be there, ready where you left off. This also means that you don't have to finish the map in one go, you can play, stop or play some PvP or the like, and then go back to the Nexus later and keep going on the map (as long as the event hasn't ended in the mean time).
Q: What happens if a Nexus event ends before I finish the map?
A: When the event ends, the map is immediately shut down. If you haven't completed it, you will lose your progress and and any loot that you have built up, just as if you had quit the map. If you're active in the map at the time, you'll be booted out back to the Nexus hub.
Q: Why doesn't Nexus event 'X' have more difficulty options?
A: Different types of Nexus events will have different difficulty options. This allows us to tune difficulties and rewards for different types of events and skill level of players.
