The Champion and Grand Champion Packs are available for purchase in the FEATURED section of the Store using Gems. Each week, a different group, faction, or specialization will be featured, and the packs will contain only heroes belonging to the featured group. Be sure to read the weekly Newsfeed Announcement each week for information about the current featured group. Here you will find a breakdown of what to expect from each pack!

With each pack purchase that a player makes, they move closer to a guaranteed reward from a future pack. The number of packs purchased and the progress toward a guarantee carry over between weeks, so if a player is one pack away from a guarantee and makes another purchase a week later on the next offer, the guarantee will trigger immediately. Also, bear in mind that guarantees are not shared between Champion Packs and Grand Champion Packs as they have their own counters.
When hero guarantees collide in the Champion Packs, such as on the 20th and 80th packs, the lesser guarantee is deferred by one pack, and then that guarantee's counter is reset. On the 20th pack, the first 2-star/3-star Guarantee should drop, pushing the Legendary Guarantee to pack 21. The 2-star/3-star Guarantees then hit on packs 20, 40, and 60, while the Legendary Guarantees then hit on packs 21, 25, 29, etc. On pack 80, the 3-star guarantee collides with the 2-star/3-star Guarantee, causing the 2-star/3-star Guarantee to defer by one, which then causes the Legendary guarantee to defer again. The 3-star Guarantee then falls on packs 80, 160, etc, while the 2-star/3-star Guarantee then falls on packs 81, 101, 121, etc, and the Legendary Guarantees then fall on packs 82, 86, 90, etc.
Guarantee progress is available to view by tapping on the pack image in the store. These counters are dynamic and will show how many packs remain until that guarantee is triggered. Each purchase reduces the counter by 1, until the guarantee is triggered. When the counter reaches 1, this means the next pack purchased will trigger that guarantee, and will then reset.
Hero drops from Packs are subject to a "No-Duplicate Rule" which prioritizes heroes that the player has not yet acquired by any means, giving the best chances for new heroes with each purchase. While this reduces the chance of duplicates, it is always still possible to receive a duplicate Hero in a pack. Keep in mind that the No-Duplicate Rule is applied per rarity and star-rating, so you may acquire all of the One Star Legendary Heroes in a pack, for example, and begin seeing duplicate One Star Legendary heroes despite having not yet acquired all Two and Three Star Legendary heroes.
The No-Duplicate Rule also is limited to only the heroes currently available within the pack catalog for the pack being purchased. If all heroes currently available within that pack's catalog have been obtained, then the rule no longer applies, and duplicates may be received. Heroes not available within a specific pack's catalog cannot be obtained through purchasing that pack, regardless of whether or not that hero has been previously acquired elsewhere.
Two and Three Star Large Creatures will never duplicate within the Champion and Grand Champion Packs (unless explicitly stated in that week's announcement).
Gear will not be subject to the No-Duplicate Rule as we encourage players to collect multiple copies of great Gear to distribute to all of their favorite heroes. However, Champion and Grand Champion Packs will always have the best odds on the newest Gear.
PVP and Quest Exclusives:
Several heroes and gear within the game are considered to be "Exclusive" based on how they were released, which may affect their eligibility to be included in packs. Any hero or gear that has been released via the Champion and Grand Champion packs are not considered to be exclusive, and can generally be considered eligible for any pack that is offered.
Heroes that have been released into the game via PVP or a Quest event are "Exclusive", and are generally ineligible for inclusion in packs.
Gear may be released initially as a PVP or Quest exclusive. These gear will remain exclusive indefinitely in that they will not be added to the standard Champion Catalog or Gear Packs, however they may still be added to quest events or PVP rewards, and will be added to the general drop list for quests that allow all gear in the game to be dropped, in the release cycle following the gear's release into the game.
If an Exclusive Hero or Gear is intended to be included in a pack, the pack description will clearly identify that particular hero or gear as being included.
More information regarding the heroes and gear currently set as exclusive may be found by visiting our forums at http://bit.ly/HoDA_Exclusives.
Lastly, all Grand Champion Pack purchases have a small chance to drop the rare Tome of Ascension, the final key to Mythic evolution!
